*சன் பிக்சர்ஸ் பிரமாண்டமாக வெளியிடும் படம் ‘மங்காத்தா’. அஜீத் ஹீரோ. இதில் நடித்தது பற்றி படத்தின் ஹீரோயின் த்ரிஷா கூறியதாவது: வெங்கட் பிரபு படங்களில் ஏதோ ஒரு விஷயம் இருக்கும். அவர், ‘மங்காத்தா‘வில் அஜீத்துடன் நடிக்கிறீர்களா? ‘விண்ணைத் தாண்டி வருவாயா’ மாதிரி முழு நீள ரோல் கிடையாது. ஆனால் பேசும்படியாக இருக்கும்’ என்று சொன்னார். கதையே கேட்காமல் ஒப்புக் கொண்டேன். என் நம்பிக்கை வீண்போகவில்லை. இந்த படத்தில் எனது காஸ்ட்யூமராக வாசுகி செயல்பட்டார். வெங்கட் பிரபுவின் தங்கை. ‘நான் இத்தனை அழகா’ என்று எனக்கே உணர்த்தியவர். அவர் டிசைன் செய்து கொடுத்த உடைகள் இன்னும் என்னை அழகாக காட்டியது. படப்பிடிப்பு முடிந்த பிறகும் அவரது டிப்ஸை பின்பற்றுகிறேன். எனது அம்மா உட்பட எல்லோருமே என் அழகு கூடியிருப்பதாகச் சொல்கிறார்கள். கதைப்படி மும்பையில் பிறந்து வளர்ந்த பெண் என்பதால் மாடர்ன் உடைகள் அணிந்து நடித்திருக்கிறேன். அஜீத்துடன் இது மூன்றாவது படம் என்றாலும் இதில் எனக்கு கூடுதலாக ஒரு தோழி கிடைத்தாள். அது அஜீத்தின் குட்டி மகள். அவளுக்கும், அஜீத் செய்து தரும் சாப்பாட்டுக்கும் நான் அடிமையாகிவிட்டேன்.

பேரித்தம் பழத்தால் நோன்பு திறப்பது சிறந்தது

Vikram’s Deiva Thirumagal, as reported earlier, is inspired by Hollywood movie I am Sam. Though, AL Vijay repeatedly said that the story is not lifted from the English movie, yet we can see the shades of the film in the first half. Nonetheless, the movie has been made keeping the taste of Tamil audience in mind and actors Vikram, Anushka Shetty, baby Sara have given life to his script, as they have delivered best performance till date. Read on for Deiva Thirumagal review.

Story:
As we all know, the story of the film is about a man with a developmental disability, who fights for his daughter’s custody after the death of his wife. Krishna (Vikram) is a dim-witted with a maturity of a five-year-old, who has lost his wife. He works in a chocolate factory in Ooty and lives happily with his daughter Neela (Sara). She goes to a school, which is run by her grand father Rajendran (Sachin Khedkar), but she is not aware of the fact nor her grand father. At this juncture, there bonding gets a threat after his father-in-law Rajendran (Sachin Khedkar) came to know about the truth and drags him to the court for Neela’s custody, which devastates his emotional balance.

Rajendran along with his second daughter Shwetha (Amala Paul) appoints lawyer Bashyam (Naseer) to handle the case. Though, it looks, there is a point in their argument that a retard could not bring up his daughter easily, yet their separation would not be justified because Rajendran himself is a father of two girls. However, Krishna accidentally meets Anuradha Ragunathan (Anushka Shetty) and narrates his story. Moved by his past, she decides to fight for him in the court. Bashyam, who has never lost a single case in his life, tries to win the case at any cost. The rest of the story, which is shot in a court, is advised to watch on-screen.

Performance:
First of all, we should thank Vikram for making such an attempt as an actor, as it is very difficult to showcase the troubles of the people, who are are victims of developmental disability. The actor has given such a performance that audience keep remembering even after coming out of the theatres. His childish looks, his laughters and wonderful expressions are treat to watch. Baby Sara has acted from her heart and one could not stop raving about the five-year-old after watching her acting. Anushka Shetty could not have expected more than this. It is a dream role for any actress, as her character in the film had good scope for performance without being glamorous. Santhanam in his usual ways, steals the show, whenever he comes on-screen. Nasser, MS Bhasakar and other characters have also done justice for their roles.

Technical:
Starting with cinematography, Nirav Shah has beautifully wonderfully captured the locales of Ooty on his camera lens with ease. His light settings for indoors and outdoors are praise worthy. Music by GV Prakash Kumar is good but not best. For this genre, the audio banks on melody. However, he has managed to deliver three good numbers. Editor Anthony would have been merciless in the first half, as the general audience might get slightly bored due to slow proceedings. And finally, director AL Vijay, who has penned the story and screenplay, has made his best film ever. He has really worked a lot on the subject, as it is a complex and sensible story.

Overall:
Al Vijay has etched an emotional story with a lot of commercial elements. We can see a mentally handicapped character in a highly sentimental melodrama. Vikram surely touches one’s heart with his brutally honest depiction of a mentally disabled man and eventually brings out tears in you. His chemistry with Sara is wonderfully picturized and father-daughter bonding is threaded well.

Drawbacks:
Deiva Thirumagal is not a typical commercial entertainer and it is not sure how the mass audience will receive the movie. The narration of the movie in the first half is bit boring. It is only in the second part, the proceeding speeds up.

Verdict:
Deiva Thirumagal has a heart touching subject with wonderful performances from the actors. Don’t miss it!

Why Mangatha Audio Release delayed

Rumours about the audio release of Mangaatha have been doing rounds since April 2011. It was earlier reported that the music would be launched on Ajith Kumar’s birthday (May 2). But it did not see the light of day. However, it continued to be a mystery, as the makers of the film did not reveal the reason behind it. Now, music director Yuvan Shankar Raja has spilled the beans on the delay.

The ace musician claims that a tune composed by him earlier was not liked by the makers of the film, which delayed the the audio launch. Explaining this to his fans on Twitter, he said ,“The reason for the delay in Mangaatha audio is we had to scrap 1 tune n record a fresh. I wasn’t happy with the old tune for but now da new 1 sounds much better….”

Talking about the audio launch, Yuvan Shankar Raja wrote, “Mangaatha’s audio, in all probability, will be released next month, we are told.” Meanwhile, Dhayanidhi Alagiri has said that the movie unit is not delaying intentionally. He tweeted, “The team is not delaying the audio release wantedly ! Work is goin on day n night ! We don gain anything by delayin it ! UNDERSTAND !”

Nokia 6700 and 6303 Price in India

India is a budding market for everything from automobiles to cellphones and hence a product release with pricing details in India makes a lot of sense to be covered. The latest doodads to be released in India are the Nokia 6700 and the 6303 Classic models and Nokia is very hopeful about the future of these models considering the fact that India has been a happy hunting ground for the Finnish giant.

Both variants are Symbian series 40 based and were among the 2700 handsets announced by Nokia back in February 2009.

The 6700 Classic has a 2.2-inch QVGA display and houses a 5MP camera with auto-focus and flash. To ensure a good voice quality, it is well supported by the noise cancellation technology. Available in black and a chrome color combination it even has MP3 and an FM radio option. It will retail in India for 14,000 Rs.

The 6303 Classic again has a 2.2-inch QVGA display but the camera is a touch inferior (compared to the 6700) at 3.2 MP backed by 8 X digital zoom and auto focus capabilities. The 6303 will retail for Rs 8000. [via: Mobiletor]

Those of you who are in search for a new handset, there might be a new model to be considered. Cool and feature rich devices exist, but a base model with all the necessary features with a price around 300€ are best value for money. My personal recommendation has been Nokia E50, but today as I played a little with the latest models this changed. Nokia 6120 Classic is one of the newest 3G handsets; really small and light (89g), full featured S60 device with HSDPA, 2 megapixel camera, flash and priced at 260€ (in Finland; including taxes). I've been researching my roots. I'm really into genealogy right now. For weeks it has consumed my life. Every time I find one new fact I have a desire to learn more. So I keep searching. In learning about my family tree I have come to see how important family is and why I need to get serious about starting one.

In each branch of my family tree, from the mid-19th century to the 1960s, my ancestors were all married, all had their children within wedlock, and they all had between 7-15 kids. Can you just imagine that? My mama told me they had alot of kids because they needed them to work the land. I think it had more to do with the fact that there wasn't any form of birth control, and they had a better outlook on family than black folks do today.

I started thinking what life must have been like for my ancestors. Family was all they had. It was the only thing that was guaranteed in their lives. I envy them. I want so badly to find true love again. I had it once and I want it again. I want a family. I want kids. I am going on twenty-six years old this year and I can almost hear the clock ticking in my ears. I guess this is what happens when you find yourself growing older. In the back of my mind I keep telling myself, "First you have to find a staple woman to have children with...get that part done first." Ironically this seems to be the hardest part to achieve. My career is finally on track. I have a huge interview coming up this Monday. My finances are finally on track..I can't complain about money. It's just that personal part of me that seems empty and I don't know how to fill it.

சங்ககிரி : சேலம் அருகே தண்டவாளத்தில் சிக்கிய 2 வேன்கள் மீது சரக்கு ரயில் மோதியதில், 4 பேர் உடல் நசுங்கி இறந்தனர். விசித்திரமாக நடந்த விபத்து பற்றிய விவரம்: சென்னை, ஜோலார்பேட்டை பகுதிகளுக்கு சேலம் ரயில்வே மார்க்கம் வழியாக சரக்கு ரயில்கள் இயக்கப்பட்டு வருகின்றன. கேரளா, கோவை, ஈரோடு வழியாக வரும் இந்த சரக்கு ரயில்கள், சங்ககிரி ரயில் நிலையத்தை கடந்து சேலம் வரும்.

நேற்று மதியம் ஈரோட்டில் இருந்து ஜோலார்பேட்டைக்கு சரக்கு ரயில் ஒன்று வந்து கொண்டிருந்தது. சங்ககிரி அடுத்துள்ள வைகுந்தம் வடுகப்பட்டி ரயில்வே கேட் பகுதியை 1 மணியளவில் கடக்க வந்து கொண்டிருந்தது. இதற்காக வைகுந்தம்&திருச்செங்கோடு சாலையில் ரயில்வே கேட் மூடப்பட்டது. இரு வேன்கள்: கேட்டுக்கு வெளியே இரு வேன்கள் நின்று கொண்டிருந்தன. மகுடஞ்சாவடி ஊஞ்சல்காடு பகுதியை சேர்ந்த பூபதி(30), தனது ஆம்னி வேனில் திருச்செங்கோடு அர்த்தநாரீஸ்வரர் கோயிலுக்கு வந்து கொண்டிருந்தார். அவருடன், உறவினர்கள் நாகராஜ், மாது, பூபதி, சரவணன், மணி, ரவி, நடேசன் ஆகியோரும் இருந்தனர். ரயில்வே கேட் மூடப்பட்டிருந்ததால், கேட்டுக்கு முன் ஆம்னி வேனை பூபதி நிறுத்தினார்.

அவரது வேனுக்கு பின்னால் வைகுந்தம் அம்மன் மெட்ரிக் பள்ளியின் வேன் வந்தது. பள்ளி வேனை செல்வம்(55) என்பவர் ஓட்டி வந்தார். அவருடன் ஆனைப்பள்ளிக்காடு ஆவாரம்பாளையத்தை சேர்ந்த பழனிவேல்(40) இருந்தார். பள்ளி மாணவர்கள் யாரும் வேனில் இல்லை. 4 பேர் பலி: இந்த இரு வேன்களும் ஒன்றன்பின¢ ஒன்றாக ரயில்வே கேட்டை உடைத்து கொண்டு தண்டவாளத்தில் சிக்கின. அப்போது சரக்கு ரயில் இரு வேன்கள் மீதும் மோதியது.

சம்பவ இடத்திலேயே ஆம்னி வேன் டிரைவர் பூபதி உடல் நசுங்கி இறந்தார். பள்ளி வேன் டிரைவர் செல்வம், பழனிவேல் ஆகியோரும் இறந்தனர். ஆம்னி வேனில் இருந்த நாகராஜ், மாது, பூபதி, சரவணன் உள்ளிட்ட 8 பேரும் இடிபாடுகளில் சிக்கினர். ரயில் இன்ஜின் டிரைவர்கள் அரவிந்த் தட்சல், பாலகிருஷ்ணன் ஆகியோரும் படுகாயமடைந்தனர்.
இதில், பாலகிருஷ்ணனுக்கு வலது கையில் 2 விரல்கள் துண்டானது. மேல் சிகிச்சைக்காக 8 பேரும் ஈரோடு அரசு மருத்துவமனைக்கு அனுப்பி வைக்கப்பட்டனர். செல்லும் வழியில் நாகராஜ் இறந்தார். மற்றவர்களுக்கு ஈரோடு அரசு மருத்துவமனையில் தீவிர சிகிச்சை அளிக்கப்படுகிறது.

பிரேக்குக்கு பதில் ஆக்சிலேட்டர்...

ரயில்வே கேட் அருகே வந்ததும், டிரைவர் செல்வம், பிரேக்கை மிதிப்பதற்கு பதிலாக தவறுதலாக ஆக்சிலேட்டரை மிதித்துவிட்டார். இதனால், பள்ளி வேன் முன்னால் நின்ற ஆம்னி வேன் மீது வேகமாக மோதியது. இதில், ரயில்வே கேட்டை உடைத்துக்கொண்டு 2 வாகனங்களும் தண்டவாளத்தில் சிக்கிக்கொண்டன. கண்ணிமைக்கும் நொடியில் பாய்ந்து வந்து கொண்டிருந்த சரக்கு ரயில், இந்த இரு வேன்கள் மீது பயங்கரமாக மோதியது. வேன்களின் நொறுங்கிய பாகங்கள் ரயில் இன்ஜினின் முன்பகுதியில் சிக்கின. சுமார் 50 மீட்டர் தூரத்துக்கு பள்ளி வேனின் பாகங்களை ரயில் இழுத்துச் சென்றது.

சர்ச்சைக்குரிய பார்ட்டி மீண்டும் நடத்துகிறார் : கேத்ரினா!

பாலிவுட் முன்னணி ஹீரோயின் கேத்ரினா கைப்புக்கு கடந்த 2008ம் ஆண்டு ஜூலை 16ம் தேதியை மறக்க முடியாது. அன்று தனது பிறந்த நாள் விழாவை தடபுடலாக ஏற்பாடு செய்திருந்தார். பாலிவுட் ஸ்டார்கள் குவிந்தனர். ஷாருக்கான், சல்மான் கானும் விழாவில் கலந்துகொண்டனர். திடீரென்று இரண்டு கான்களுக்கும் மோதல் ஏற்பட்டது. நேருக்கு நேர் மோதிக் கொண்டதால் பார்ட்டியே அல்லோலப்பட்டது. சந்தோஷ பார்ட்டி, மோதலில் முடிந்ததில் அப்செட் ஆனார் கேத்ரினா.

சம்பவம் நடந்து 3 வருடம் ஆகிவிட்டது. இதுவரை ஷாருக், சல்மான் பேசிக் கொள்வதே இல்லை. இவர்கள் சண்டை காரணமாக கடந்த 3 வருடமாக பிறந்த நாள் பார்ட்டியை நடத்தாமல் இருந்தார் கேத்ரினா. இந்நிலையில் அடுத்த மாதம் வர உள்ள தனது பர்த்டேக்கு பார்ட்டி வைக்க முடிவு எடுத்திருக்கிறார். இது பற்றி அவரது நெருங்கிய தோழி ஒருவர் கூறும்போது, ÔÔபர்த்டே பார்ட்டி கலாட்டாவால் அதிர்ச்சி அடைந்த கேத்ரினா பார்ட்டி கொடுப்பதையே நிறுத்திவிட்டார். அந்த சம்பவத்தால் ஒரு வாரம் வீட்டிலேயே முடங்கி கிடந்தார். இப்போது பயத்திலிருந்து மீண்டிருக்கிறார். ‘பர்த்டே பார்ட்டி வேண்டும்Õ என்று சக ஹீரோ, ஹீரோயின்கள் கேட்பதால் அவர்களது விருப்பத்தை தட்டிக் கழிக்க விரும்பவில்லைÕÕ என்றார். பார்ட்டிக்கு ஷாருக்கான், சல்மான் கானுக்கும் அழைப்பு விடுக்க உள்ளாராம் கேத்ரினா.

Motorcycle Stunt Riding

Motorcycle stunt riding, sometimes referred to as simply stuntriding, is a motorcycle sport characterized by stunts involving acrobatic maneuvering of the motorcycle and sometimes the rider. Common maneuvers in stunt riding include wheelies, stoppies, and burnouts. Sport bikes have become a common vehicle for stunts.
Stunters
Stunters are a controversial subculture of motorcycling. Stunters perform motorcycle stunts on sportbikes, both on public roads and in private venues. Some stunters have organized commercial teams.
History
This section requires expansion.

A wheelie on a motorized vehicle is nothing new. In drag racing they are considered a problem, robbing power that could be used to accelerate the vehicle faster, and many classes of drag racing use wheelie bars to prevent them.
But those are for vehicles specifically built for drag racing, which rarely are street-legal, or unmodified from stock. In contrast, since at least the 1970s, some motorcycles straight from the showroom floor were able to be wheelied.
In the late 1980s and continuing today, motorcycles, and especially sportbikes, have become lighter and more powerful, and have therefore become easier to wheelie. Other stunts have also become possible if not easy with the advancement of motorcycle technology. As Martin Child wrote in Bike, "With lighter, shorter, better-braked bikes on the market, the stoppie has never been so easy for so many."[1] But at the same time, the cost of a motorcycle has remained relatively low compared to other street-legal vehicles with similar power-to-weight ratios.
In the 1990s some riders made performing stunts the primary focus of their riding. A wheelie or other stunt was not just something to do while riding, it became the main goal in riding.

Stunters will modify their motorcycles to better adapt them to the sport. Stunting equipment includes:
• Frame sliders — these large knobs are attached to a motorcycle's frame to protect the fairing from damage should the rider lay down the bike. Also used by many non-stunters. Frame sliders should not be considered a substitute for a cage when learning how to stunt. Although Frame sliders will reduce the damage to the plastics and certain parts of the bike they are not enough to keep from cracking motor cases and or cracking the frame itself.
• Crash cages — these cages provide more protection from damage than frame sliders. Mostly used by stunters. There are many examples of cages on the market today and a vast array of different designs and styles. It is very important to check around based on the type of bike you have as to what cage will work best at maximizing the protection for your specific motorcycle. A cage should be one of the first things purchased when learning how to stunt due to the fact that most drops and falls will occur during this time.
• subcages — subcages are very similar to crash cages but for protection of a different sort. While crash cages are protection for the frame itself, motor mounts and cases subcages focus on protecting the subframe of the motorcycle. In certain subcage applications will also eliminate the stock passenger pegs and relocate them to a different spot which is more becoming for staggered stance wheelies among other tricks. These pegs will in some cases be solid mounted to eliminate the possibility of them folding up on the rider when doing wheelies on the passenger pegs.
• front Upper Stay — Meant to replace the upper stay on the motorcycle which usually holds the upper fairing and gauges in place. This is only necessary when running a full fairing bike and is meant in like fashion as both the subcage and crash cage to protect the front of the bike and provide increased stability for the front end of the motorcycle. This will not save the front fairing from damage.
• 12 o'clock bar — 12 bars as they are referred to are commonly used on stunt bikes. These bars attach to the subframe of the motorcycle and are used when 12ing the bike. These bars are meant to scrape the ground in place of the exhaust or tail section. Furthermore, with the introduction of the 12 bar came an array of bar tricks which all occur while the motorcycle is resting on the bar itself. These tricks include but are not limited to the ape hanger, watch tower, and various other acrobatics while the bike is on the bar. Only used by stunters.
• Hand Brake — A handbrake came onto the stunting scene much later and in actuality within recent years gained popularity. With the sport pushing its bounds into new territory came tricks that involved the rider in a position in which he cannot access the rear brake to control the balance point of the motorcycle. When tricks such as seat standers, highchairs, and spreaders came on the scene at first it was not necessary to use a handbrake, however these tricks quickly developed into scraping while in a highchair or spreader which involved the use of a hand mounted rear brake
• Round bar— A variation of the 12 bar, round bars are becoming more and more popular nowadays with riders straying away from bar tricks and increasing the technicality of Circle combinations. A round bar is the same principle of a 12 bar as far as scraping the bar instead of the tail section or exhaust with one difference. The round bar is just that, its a curved bar that hugs the contour of the motorcycle tail section with no flat sections.

Wheelies
A basic wheelie is the lifting of the front of the motorcycle off the ground by means of either power or use of clutching. There are many variations of the basic wheelie...
The "circle" is a wheelie performed traveling entirely within a circle, which is very difficult to do. Even more difficult is a circle wheelie with the rider's right foot on the left peg, which is called a "Ralph Loui".
The "high chair" is a wheelie with the rider's legs over the handlebars, while a "tank wheelie" is one in which rider sits on the tank with legs spread. A "frog" is a wheelie in which the rider stands on the tank, and a "seat stander" is performed with the rider standing on the motorcycle's saddle. Standing on the windshield while riding the bike at 12'oclock is called a "watch tower".
The "12 o'clock" is a very high wheelie, past the normal balance point of the motorcycle. A variation of this is the "coaster", in which the bike is balanced without the acting force of the motor, that is, with the clutch pulled in. The motorcycle is pulled so far back beyond the balance point of the wheel that the rider must constantly ride the rear brake to keep his machine from falling over backwards, causing him to slow down. A rider can pull in the clutch to create the effect of a wheelie with no engine noise. Conversely, some riders will pull in the clutch and peg the engine on its rev-limiter, called a "rev-limiter coaster".
The opposite of the 12 o'clock is a wheelie in which momentum is used to lean forward, lifting the rear wheel while continuing to move forward at a high speed — this is called a "nose wheelie".
A wheelie performed by two or more men on the same motorcycle is called "man-dom".
• Bar tricks

Burnouts use the power of the engine and braking force to cause the rear wheel to spin, heating the rear tire and producing smoke. There are different types of burnouts, like the "suicide burnout" with the rider dismounted and standing in front of the motorcycle. The "chainsaw" is an form of burnout performed by the stunter standing beside a motorcycle laying on its side holding the motorcycle exclusively by the right handle bar then causing the bike to "orbit" around the rider while maintaining control during the burnout. In a "merry-go-round", the rider lays the bike on its side and climbs onto it, then leans back on the bike while holding the throttle, causing the bike to spin round while doing a burnout.

o Hyperspin— Kneeling On The Right Side Of The Bike, With The Bike Laying On The Ground And Feathering The Gas And Spinning Around On The Ground
o Switchback — Any stunt performed with the body facing the rear of the motorcycle, opposite the direction of travel.

Cytrix, a display team formed by members of the White Helmets at the end of World War II, toured for 20 years up to 1967. They toured mainly the UK, but also on two occasions the US (across 23 mid-west states over 4 months) and Europe. They appeared at UK agricultural shows and at Wembley on a number of occasions during the Speedway finals. The four consistent members of the team were Basil Shelbourne, Ted Way, Jet Jones and Neil Hack. Originally they rode Matchless bikes but later rode BSA Gold Stars. Stunts were typically run at speeds of 60 mph and included tunnel-of-fire jumps. They rode without crash helmets or leathers, just shirt, tie, jodhpurs and riding boots.[citation needed]

Many people use the wireless network, also called Wi-Fi or 802.11 networking, to connect their computers at home, and some cities are trying to use technology to deliver free or cheap Internet access to residents. In the near future, the wireless network in May was so widespread that you can access the Internet anywhere at any time, without spending a Sunday

WiFi has a lot of advantages. Wireless networks are easy to create and inexpensive. They are also unobtrusive – unless you’re looking for a place to use your laptop, you may not even notice when you are in a hotspot.

A wireless network uses radio waves, such as mobile phones, televisions and radios. In fact, communication across a wireless network is a bit like two-way radio communications. Here’s what happens:

1. A computer on the wireless adapter translates data into a radio signal and transmits through an antenna.
2. A wireless router receives the signal and decodes. The router sends information to the Internet using a physical, wired Ethernet connection.This process also works in reverse, with the router receiving information from the Internet, translating it into a radio signal and send it to your wireless adapter. Radios used for WiFi communication are very similar to those used for walkie-talkie radios, cell phones and other devices. They can send and receive radio waves, and they can convert 1s and 0s into radio waves and convert the radio waves in 1 and 0 But WiFi radios have some notable differences from other radios:

* They transmit at frequencies of 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz. This frequency is much higher than the frequencies used for cellular phones, walkie-talkies and televisions. Increase the frequency of the signal can carry more data.
* They use 802.11 networking standards that are in several variants:
o 802.11a transmit at 5 GHz and up to 54 megabits of data per second. He also uses orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing (OFDM), a more efficient coding technique that splits the radio signal into several sub-signals before they reach a receiver. This reduces interference.
o 802.11b is the slowest and least expensive standard. o The new 802.11n standard, which is widely available. This standard significantly improves speed and range. For instance, although 802.11g theoretically moves 54 megabits of data per second, making real-world speeds of around 24 megabits of data per second because of congestion in the network. 802.11n, however, allegedly can reach speeds as high as 140 megabits per second. The standard is currently in draft – Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) plans to formally ratify 802.11n by the end of 2009.
* Other 802.11 standards focus on applications of wireless networks such as wide-area network (WAN) in vehicles or technology that allows you to switch from one wireless network to another without problems.
* WiFi radios can transmit on any of three frequency bands. Or they can “frequency hop” rapidly between the different bands. Frequency hopping reduces interference and allows multiple devices to use the same wireless connection simultaneously.

WiFi Hotspots

If you want to take advantage of public WiFi hotspots or start a wireless network in your home, the first thing you need to do is make sure your computer has the correct speed. Most new laptops and many new desktop computers are built with wireless transmitters. If your laptop does not work, you can buy a wireless adapter that plugs into the PC card or USB port. Desktop computers can use USB adapters, or you can buy an adapter that plugs into the PCI slot inside the computer. Many of these cards can use more than one 802.11 standard.

Once you have installed your wireless adapter and drivers that can run, your computer must be able to automatically discover existing networks. This means that when you turn your computer into a WiFi hotspot, the computer informs you that the network exists and ask if you want to connect. If you have an older computer, you May need to use a program to detect and connect to a wireless network.

Being able to connect to the Internet in public hotspots is extremely convenient. The wireless home networking is useful too. They allow you to connect multiple computers and move them from place to place without disconnecting and reconnecting cables. In the next section we will see how to create a wireless network in your home.
